THR GR Yaris - 1:08.0
Tunehouse Racing has been busy playing with the new GR Yaris and has teamed up with Zestino Tyres Australia and Trackschool’s John Boston to test their tweaks. After setting a baseline in November last year, the team returned with a ‘stage one’ tune on the GR Yaris that got it spinning out an extra 20kW and 45Nm at the wheels.
Bolting on a set of road-legal 140 treadwear Zestino 07RS tyres saw the GR Yaris sail into the 1:08 second range, with Boz cracking out two near-identical PBs back-to-back of 1:08.0showing consistency in both the new tune and tyres.
The results showed impressive improvements – the Tunehouse GR Yaris lopped 3.4 seconds off the base laptime on stock tyres, with the tune cutting 1.6 seconds off a stock car outfitted with the same sticky Zestinos.
