PVS BRZ E85 Test - SMSP

We head down to SMSP to check out the PVS Tuning 2022 BRZ recently fitted with our 2.4L NA tuning package. The drive day was hosted by 4K Automotive on the GP layout. We were pretty confident the BRZ would dip into the low 1:46’s with the 175kW tune however I was secretly hoping for a 1:45 even if Tyler thought it was optimistic!

2022 BRZ E85 Tune

The first flying lap of the morning with Tyler at the wheel came back at a 1:45.5 - I had to do a double take thinking I had pressed the lap button too soon but the second lap came in at a 1:45.4! We were ecstatic with the result even if the lap wasn’t perfect.

As the sun rose the track quickly lost pace however in the second session Tyler still managed a 1:45.37 - over 2 seconds faster than the last time the car was out on track with standard power. The only changes to the car were our NA tuning package making the time loss $4499 for 2 seconds which is almost unheard of with a very capable driver at the helm driving the car at it’s limit.

There’s still time left in the lap and we’re running on a 4 day old set of 245 wide RE71RS so we’re fairly confident a high-mid 1:44 is on the table before going to an R Compound tyre. This is an unbelievable quick time for a standard road car with very basic mods. The PVS BRZ is fitted with an AP Racing front brake kit from V-Sport, Silvers coilovers and our NA tuning package. Without the brake kit this is a sub $50k car that can drive to any track in the country and cut laps all day and the development is only just getting started!
